The US National Online Resource Center on Violence Against Women (VAWnet) has updated their Special Collection Preventing and Responding to Teen Dating Violence. Special Collections collate selected resources on a specific topic and provide contextual information to encourage critical analysis.
This Special Collection emphasises collaborative and multilevel approaches to the prevention of, and response to, teen dating violence. The recent updates include additional resources for teachers and school-based professionals, pregnancy prevention advocates and adolescent sexual health practitioners in addressing adolescent relationship abuse.
The collection includes general information about teen dating violence as well as six specific sections on:
- Young people
- Parents and caregivers
- Men and boys
- Teachers and school-based professionals
- Health care professionals
- Domestic violence and sexual violence service providers.
The collection also includes resources on teen dating violence laws and legislation and examples of US programmes and organisations addressing teen dating violence.
Other recent resources on healthy sexuality and young people include the US National Sexual Assault Awareness Month 2014 resources from the National Sexual Violence Resource Center.
In Aotearoa New Zealand, ACC is currently developing a schools-based programme on healthy and respectful relationships to prevent sexual and dating violence.
