Appointment extended for Kim McGregor as Chief Victims Advisor

Justice Minister Amy Adams has announced that Dr Kim McGregor's appointment as Chief Victims Advisor will be extended until November 2018.

Dr Kim McGregor, QSO, was appointed as the inaugural Chief Victims Advisor in 2015 as part of changes to address family and sexual violence. The Chief Victims Advisor is an independent ministerial advisor appointed by, and accountable to, the Minister of Justice. The role of the Advisor is to provide independent advice to the Minister of Justice and all of government on strategies for supporting victims.

Minister Adams said "The Government is committed to making positive changes that will ensure the justice system is centred around victims and easier for them to navigate. Dr McGregor has played an important part in making sure victims’ voices are heard, including in relation to our family and sexual violence reforms."
