The ubiquity of technology in society makes it imperative to consider the potential for harm from platforms, services, and devices, whilst ensuring we are still able to maximise the benefits of technology.
Now is the time for Aotearoa to act to provide frameworks, guidelines, and regulations to protect citizens, consumers and users of digital content and services. Responsive and effective regulatory frameworks are a global imperative to create a safe environment for continued innovation by the technology industry.
The conference programme is organised around 3 themes, safer online platforms, safer online services, and safer internet enabled devices, and includes a talk on "Mitigating the risks and reducing the prevalence of harmful content.'
NZTech and Netsafe are sponsoring discounted tickets which students and NGO and charity workers can apply for.
